Join the Open Watcom Announcements email list. This low volume list allows you to get the latest news about the Open Watcom project.
You can access the Open Watcom newsgroups via a regular newsreader. These groups offer an excellent opportunity to get questions answered and participate in the Open Watcom effort. Many of the developers read the newsgroups regularly. To access the Open Watcom newsgroups, point your newsreader software at the server news.openwatcom.org and then subscribe to the groups that interest you. Popular choices are
- openwatcom.users.c_cpp. This group is where users of the Open Watcom C and C++ products can meet and ask questions, make suggestions, etc.
- openwatcom.users.fortran. This group is where users of the Open Watcom Fortran products can meet and ask questions, make suggestions, etc.
- openwatcom.contributors. This group is where the development of all Open Watcom languages, tools, and documentation is discussed.
Use the Bugzilla system to report new and keep track of bugs. Before you enter a bug, please check the existing descriptions to see if it has already been reported. If this is the first time you report a bug in Open Watcom it may be wise to discuss it in one of the newsgroups, to learn from those with more experience how the report can be made as useful as possible.
Always include a brief but comprehensive description of steps that need to be taken in order to reproduce the bug. In the case of compiler bugs, that typically includes a short testcase. Without a clear testcase, problem reports will not be looked at.
